About our service

Quote live with the FX desk and agree on a price for the FX transaction. The currency exchange transaction is settled with your own bank accounts in real time. After confirmation by the FX desk, the settled transaction will be reflected in your bank account.

How does our service work?

Our services operate through the National Electronic Payment System (SINPE) hosted by the Central Bank (BCCR).

Exchange House

ARI operates as an Exchange House according to the Regulations for Cash Exchange Operations (ROCC) and the Organic Law of the Central Bank of Costa Rica.

ARI is regulated and supervised by the Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR) and the General Superintendence of Financial Entities (SUGEF)

  • How do I download the app?
    You can find the app as ARi Bot in the App Store and Google Play Store.
  • How do I sign up in the mobile app?
    Once you open the mobile app you'll have to click "Regístrese" at the bottom of the home page.
  • What do I need to sign up?
    You need: Costa Rica Government ID or DIMEX USD bank account in any Costa Rican financial entity CRC bank account in any Costa Rican financial entity
  • How to do an FX transaction?
    When you sign in to the app, you'll land in the "Ventanilla" page. There you can see the bid/ask FX rates at the top, then a section with "Tengo", "Quiero", "Colones" and "Dólares" where you write the amount of the transaction, then a section with the registered bank accounts where you can choose which accounts to use, and at the bottom "¡Cambiar!" which you click once you are ready to execute the FX transaction.
  • How do the FX transactions settle?
    Settlement of the FX transactions is done using the accounts registered during sign up.
  • How long does it last for the FX transaction to settle?
    Settlement is done through instant payment services. Therefore once it is executed you should be able to see the settlement in the corresponding bank accounts.
  • How do I sign up?

  • How does the settlement work?
    Settlement is done using instant payment services of the Sistema Nacional de Pagos Electrónicos (SINPE) provided by the Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR).
  • How do I request for quote?
    The client sends a request for quote through the official channels available for the service. The FX desk will reply with a quote. If the client agrees, they need to send confirmation of agreement for the FX desk to execute the FX transaction. The FX desk later confirms through the same channel once the transaction is settled.
